Strolling to Syracuse
In 1802 Johann Gottfried Seume walked 3,600 miles from
Grimma (near Leipzig) in Germany to
Syracuse in Sicily.
He then turned around,
walked home and wrote a book -
Spaziergang nach Syrakus - about his adventures.
This website is about my attempt to follow in his footsteps.
"He who walks sees, on average, more—anthropologically and
cosmically—than he who rides."
